Please see https://www.mcleanhospital.org/researchJob DescriptionThe 3East Residential Programs provide short term, self-pay intensive DBT treatment for teens and young adults who struggle with significant emotion dysregulation, symptoms of self-harm, impulsivity, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, drug and alcohol misuse, significant interpersonal difficulties, and trauma and who cannot be supported in an outpatient setting. The residential program requires a minimum commitment of 6 weeks and provides residents the opportunity to have two phases of treatment, the Intensive where the focus is on skills acquisition (Browning Building) and the second phase or Advanced (Merck building) where the focus is on skills generalization. 3East is committed to provide affirming care to residents of all genders. This fellowship provides the unique opportunity to practice DBT in a highly intensive residential environment in which all members of the interdisciplinary team are trained and committed to the DBT approach. With comprehensive training and supervision, fellows will provide individual DBT, DBT group therapy, DBT family therapy, DBT skills training, milieu coaching, parent skills training, and comprehensive case management. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in DBT consultation team, bi-weekly rounds, weekly clinical seminars, case conferences, and a rich variety of Grand Rounds, colloquium, and other learning opportunities offered to the wider McLean Hospital community. Due to the high frequency of comorbidities such as PTSD, OCD, and ASD fellows may also have the opportunity to learn how to address specific comorbidities in a DBT setting. Fellows will have the opportunity to attend a DBT Foundational Training if they have not yet attended one and may choose an alternative DBT training if they have already completed a Foundational. A successful candidate will:o* Work independently and in collaboration with senior clinicians and supervisorso* Will have some previous knowledge and experience with DBT and treating patients with Borderline Personality Disordero* Be motivated, meticulous, organized, and detail-orientedo* Thrive working closely as a member of an interdisciplinary clinical teamo* Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm for learning new DBT and new therapeutic techniqueso* Have strong analytical and problem-solving skillso* Have strong self-assessment skills and the awareness to ask for help and collaborate in order to provide excellent clinical careo* Posses exceptional written and oral communication skills o* Possess the ability to make independent and effective decisions in a timely fashiono* Have excellent interpersonal skillsQualifications
