This job involves working independently and under general supervision from the Principal Investigator on NIH-sponsored research. The primary goals of the Post Doctoral Fellow will be to lead the network data analysis in relation to cutting-edge research in neurology and network science. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will supervise and assist with this federally funded clinical studies which aim to investigate the relationships between patient’s social networks and their clinical outcomes.Qualifications
• Primary responsibilities will include data analysis, academic writing, contributing to the overall research• effort at the Dhand Lab, grant writing, attending conferences, participating in meetings with collaborators ,• and any other related duties assigned to the fellow by the PI . This position will provide the Post-Doctoral• Fellow the opportunity to gain leadership skills and data analysis skills that could lead to academic• presentations or publication opportunities.• This job is well-suited for individuals interested in social networks, neurology, population health, and a• career in academic research or data analysis. A background in either population health, epidemiology,• biostatistics, computer science, or social science are beneficial. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• 1. Lead writing of academic articles.• 2. Conduct data analysis for clinical research studies as per study guidelines and protocols.• 3. Responsible for maintaining database for study. May be required to monitor data quality, maintain• data analysis records, and create data reports.• 4. Code and completes analyses related to project in the R environment and other software platforms.• 5. Strong interest in contributing to the overall scientific literature especially in interdisciplinary• research with journals in neurology, neuroscience, social network sciences, network science, and• population health.• 6. Attend required meetings with PI and collaborators.• 7. All other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Doctoral Degree in either epidemiology, biostatistics, population health, social sciences, physics, or related• fields.• Sound independent judgment, knowledge and experience in data analysis and competence in research• methodologies.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• 1. Ability to work independently.• 2. Good oral and written communication skills.• 3. Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to• interpret the acceptability of data results.• 4. Knowledge of clinical research protocols.• 5. High degree of data analysis.• 6. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.• 7. Careful attention to detail.• 8. Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects’ rights and individual needs.• 9. Knowledge of data management programs.• 10. Experience in scientific writing.
