The Ocean Science Department at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The successful candidate will join the NSF project FOCUS, investigating oceanic variability in Florida Straits and its influence on coastal sea level and flooding. The Postdoctoral Associate will work with a multi-year dataset of temperature, salinity, and geostrophic velocity from nine inverted echo-sounder moorings (CPIES) deployed across the Straits. Satellite and tide gauge observations will help relate processes in the Straits to local and regional climatic conditions. The candidate will join research cruises and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students. Experience in processing and analyzing in situ ocean data in the context of geophysical dynamical processes is strongly desired.
