DUTIES INCLUDE:
Reads, understands, and executes directions given in writing, orally or in diagram formOperates power tools (multiple types of saws and drills, router, pneumatic nail guns, air compressed tools), and other equipment safelyUtilizes a tape measure, working drawings, and speed square efficiently and accuratelyPerforms fabrication of Tuff Shed products (cuts, trims, paints, and semi-assembles) according to cut sheets or engineer drawings or other instructions efficiently using lumber and materials according to policies and proceduresPainting duties include applying proper amounts of paint, ensuring that appropriate side and edge coverage occurs and maintaining painting equipment and materials to Tuff Shed standardsEnsures that completed sub-assembly is placed in appropriate bins for specific building assignmentMakes certain that all power and pneumatic tools are operating correctly, safely, and within manufacturer specifications including properly maintaining and lubricating tools on a daily basis; immediately informs the Production Foreman whenever a tool is unsafe or is in need of repairComplies with Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements including maintaining a clean and organized work area each day from start to finishInforms the Production Foreman when inventory levels are lowAble to regularly move up to 50 pounds for at least 100 feet; able to periodically lift more than 50 pounds for at least 100 feet, with the assistance of another member of the Tuff Shed production team
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of the construction industry, basic carpentry skills, basic painting skillsTeam oriented mindset and work collaboratively with team membersAbility to carry out instructions communicated in writing, orally, or in diagram formAbility to use basic arithmetic as well as the ability to read tape measure, working drawings and speed squareAbility to operate air compressors, air tools, hammer, saw, drill, and other basic power tools preferredMay be required to successfully complete Tuff Shed fork lift certification
EXPERIENCE
Requires experience with the Prefabrication function or similarExperience handling and operating power tools, preferredExperience utilizing a tape measure, speed square reading and interpreting working drawings, preferred
EDUCATION
High school diploma OR equivalent
