Job Description

Responsible for leading prenatal and infant/toddler education services within the Child, Youth and Family Services Division. Oversees services for pregnant women and children from birth to age three, ensuring high-quality, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate learning environments that support children's growth and school readiness. Supports parents in their role as their child's first teacher, monitors compliance with program standards and curriculum requirements, and promotes positive outcomes for children and families in alignment with CAPSLO's mission.What we're looking for in the ideal candidate:

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, or a closely related field.Three years of teaching experience with pregnant women and infants/toddlers (0-3).One year supervisory, administrative or training/monitoring experience in an ECE/CD program.Experience must include knowledge of infant/toddler activities, literature and other program contents appropriate for bilingual/multicultural education.Must have completed six semester units in Infant/Toddler Development.Must show proof of successful completion of PITC (Programs for Infant/Toddler Caregivers) training within eighteen months of hire.Fluency in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community is preferred, but not required

As an Education Coordinator you will:

Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of prenatal, infant, and toddler education services in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, State Child Development regulations, licensing requirements, and agency policies.Provide leadership, coaching, training, and technical assistance to education staff to support developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum implementation, and positive child outcomes.Monitor program quality across center-based, home-based, and family child care settings through observations, site visits, data review, and continuous improvement activities.Collaborate with coordinators, specialists, families, and community partners to deliver comprehensive, culturally responsive services that support children and families.Review program data, child outcomes, records, and reports to ensure compliance, assess effectiveness, and identify opportunities for program improvement.Support program planning, budgeting, grant development, staff training, transition planning, and self-assessment activities.Facilitate committees, participate in program reviews and meetings, and maintain partnerships with local and state agencies to strengthen resources and services.Perform other duties as assigned.
