ITW Residential Mechanical Fastening offers a broad range of professional grade tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Our products include structural wood fasteners (GRK Fasteners), concrete anchoring systems (Tapcon, Red Head, Ramset), underlayment screws (Backer-On Rock-On ), self-drilling screws (Teks) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z Ancor). Position Summary

Entry level maintenance position to perform preventative maintenance on machinery, mechanical equipment, production machines and equipment, as well as building maintenance support. This is a 2nd shift position (2:15 pm - 10:30 pm).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including cold headers, pointers, and thread rollers.
  • Conduct scheduled oil changes and check, clean, and replace filters on all assigned equipment.
  • Apply grease to all required grease fittings (headers, conveyors, turntables, RMGs, rollers, pointers, washers, and deoilers).
  • Support basic compressor maintenance, including bleeding, changing air filters, checking oil levels, and completing oil changes.
  • Inspect equipment for loose or damaged electrical components, piping, conduit fittings, liquatite, or malfunctioning sensors, and address issues as needed.
  • Clean laser sensors and remove dust or debris to ensure accurate operation.
  • Complete building and facility maintenance tasks, including replacing filters, bleeding airlines, checking lights, cleaning fans, maintaining ceiling tiles, and responding to maintenance requests.
  • Open, complete, and close work orders in Fiix to accurately track maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct required safety inspections in Fiix and maintain compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and document downtime.
  • Assist machine operators with basic troubleshooting and provide support with proper machine care and safety practices.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping floors, removing scrap, and keeping work areas clear.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Able to safely operate man lifts, forklifts, and boom lifts.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, charts, and procedure manuals, and prepare routine reports.
  • Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with decimals).
  • Able to follow detailed written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work within established health, safety, and quality guidelines.
  • Able to organize workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work up to 40 hours per week, including mandatory overtime and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with continuous improvement methods.
  • Able to lead, plan, and take initiative when acting on behalf of supervision.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to be present and walk through an active construction site in various weather conditions. Be able to follow and use specific job site safety equipment and procedures. Must be able to handle various company products such as steel products, tools, and construction chemicals while following proper safety guidelines established by the company. Ability to hear safety noises in the facility as well. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Hourly base salary for this position is $21.00 plus applicable shift differential of $2.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
