In this role, you will use your understanding of the Greater Pittsburgh Metro Area, as well as the Western Pennsylvania market to help strengthen and grow the local presence of OHM Advisors, supporting civic infrastructure, redevelopment, and community development projects across the region. Working with municipal, institutional, and private clients, you will help identify opportunities, contribute to project strategies, and connect community needs with practical and innovative solutions.
You will work both externally and internally to promote collaboration, helping align client opportunities with OHM's planning, design, and engineering expertise. Drawing on strong technical knowledge of civil engineering practices, you will help frame solutions and guide project direction while working alongside experienced project managers and technical staff who lead detailed engineering and project delivery.
This growth-oriented role is well-suited for someone driven to make a positive impact in the region. Through an understanding of the local market, opportunities, and challenges, this person will help shape OHM Advisors' presence in Western Pennsylvania while advancing our team as trusted advisors to the communities we support.
Your Responsibilities
Client Relationships and Business Development
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, including municipal leaders, institutions, developers, and regional partners.
- Ability to build relationships across public and private sectors, helping align community goals with development and infrastructure opportunities.
- Participate in professional organizations, industry events, and regional networks to strengthen the firm's visibility.
- Support and lead proposal efforts, including scope development and technical writing.
- Monitor project progress at key milestones and support resolution of issues that may impact client satisfaction or project success.
Technical Leadership
- Maintain a strong understanding of civil engineering practices related to site development, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting.
- Be familiar with PennDOT processes and requirements
- Stay informed on emerging trends, regulatory changes, and infrastructure priorities across Pittsburgh Metro / western Pennsylvania.
- Work with clients to understand challenges and help shape practical engineering approaches that align with community goals.
- Collaborate with internal technical leaders and project managers to guide engineering solutions that support project success.
- Remain engaged throughout project delivery to ensure technical solutions align with client expectations and broader project objectives.
Collaboration and Mentorship
- Collaborate across OHM disciplines to develop high-functioning teams and align with market and client needs.
- Maintain robust network of project collaborators across the region.
- Support mentorship and professional development of junior engineers.
- Actively contributes to firm-wide initiatives and strategies, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Pennsylvania.
- 10+ years of experience in municipal /site engineering and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
- Interest in participating in professional organizations or regional industry networks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Expertise across public and private markets, navigating intersects to provide infrastructure and site design engineering.
