The Product Area Principle Agilist manages and grows the Agilist discipline across a multiproduct portfolio area. This role directly leads Product Agilists and Team Agilists, ensuring consistent Agile practices, strong coaching, and a culture of continuous improvement across teams and products. As a key partner to Product, Design, and Engineering leadership, the Principalproduct portfolio area. As a key partner to Product, Design, and Engineering leadership, the Lead Agilist drives organizational flow, resolves systemic impediments, and helps scale agility across the portfolio. In partnership with the Agile CoELeader, this role contributes to the design and execution of broader business transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop Product Agilists and Team Agilists across all products within the portfolio area.
Establish consistent Agile practices, standards, and playbooks, guiding teams in adoption and continuous improvement.
Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to improve flow, address systemic impediments, and manage risks.
Collaborate with the Agile CoE Leader and VMO Leader to align transformation, governance, and portfolio flow.
Engage actively in the Agilists Community of Practice to support peer learning and practice advancement.
Guide all products and teams within the portfolio toward higher maturity levels.
Facilitate alignment and collaboration across teams, functions, and leadership layers.
Identify and make visible portfolioarea impediments and leadarea impediments and lead efforts to resolve them.
Surface and communicate risks at the portfolio level, guiding teams on effective mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of Agile leadership experience, including 3+ years coaching programs or team-of-ofteams and 2+ years managing Agile practitioners.
Demonstrated success scaling agility across multiple teams, team-of-teams, and products within a technology environment.
Strong peoplemanagement experience with a track record of developing management experience with a track record of developing management experience with a track recordmanagement experience with a track record of developing highperforming leaders.
Mastery of Lean and Agile methods and scaling practices (e.g., Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, ToC).
Mastery of Agile product, process, and technical practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, XP).
Skilled in facilitation,servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
Experience in both new product introduction and sustaining product development.
Working knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management.
Ability to clarify area needs, articulate a transformation vision, and drive execution.
Understanding of modern organizational design principles that improve value delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or other fast-paced technology environments.
Familiarity with lean portfolio and product portfolio management practices.
