If you're looking for a new chance, a new beginning, a new trajectory, LivaNova is where your talent can truly thrive. Join our talented team members worldwide to become a pioneer of tomorrow-because at LivaNova, we don't just treat conditions - we aspire to alter the course of lives.

We are building a world-class Digital Platform for our next generation Patient Care for Neuromodoulation and CP business lines to enable faster innovation. As an Enterprise Integration Architect, you will design integration strategies that bridge multiple product lines, establish architecture governance, and enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions. This is a strategic technical leadership role requiring 70% architecture/design and 30% hands-on implementation. You will work across microservices, define API contracts, establish integration patterns, and architect for resilience in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design integration architecture bridging multiple product lines using shared platform capabilities
  • Establish microservices architecture patterns, API standards, and integration governance
  • Lead architecture reviews and mentor engineering teams on design decisions
  • Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and compliance teams
  • Implement critical integration APIs and proof-of-concepts using modern development tools
  • Drive architectural transformation from monolithic to capability-based distributed systems
  • Ensure architecture compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, and medical device regulations
  • You will be very comfortable using AI tools like Claude Code/Cursor etc.

Required Qualifications

Core Technical Skills:

  • 10+ years enterprise/solution architecture experience with distributed systems and microservices
  • Strong backend architecture expertise (Python, Java, .NET, or similar modern languages)
  • Production experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architecture, and async messaging patterns
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred) and cloud-native architecture
  • Understanding of integration patterns: service mesh, API gateway, BFF, event sourcing, CQRS
  • Database architecture experience with both relational (PostgreSQL/SQL Server) and NoSQL (CosmosDB/MongoDB) systems

Healthcare & Compliance:

  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or highly regulated industries (financial services, government)
  • Understanding of HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, or similar regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Security-by-design mindset for handling protected health information and sensitive data
  • Experience with quality management systems and compliance-driven development processes

Product Engineering & Leadership:

  • Proven track record architecting platforms supporting multiple product lines or business units
  • Experience establishing architecture governance, design standards, and reference architectures
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - ability to communicate technical decisions to both engineers and executives
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and conducting architecture reviews
  • Track record of balancing architectural rigor with pragmatic delivery in agile environments

AI-Augmented Development:

  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
  • Experience leveraging AI for code generation, architecture design, and documentation
  • Ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated code and architectural recommendations
  • Understanding of prompt engineering and effective collaboration with AI coding assistants

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on production experience with Python and FastAPI (async/await, Pydantic, type hints)
  • Production Kubernetes/AKS experience with Helm, service mesh, and container-based CI/CD
  • Azure platform services: AKS, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, CosmosDB, Event Hubs, Key Vault, API Management
  • Event streaming platforms (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs) and event-driven microservices patterns
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)
  • GraphQL and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectural patterns

Architecture & Methodologies:

  • Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) or capability modeling tools (LeanIX, Ardoq)
  • Domain-driven design (DDD) and capability-based architecture transformation
  • Experience with medical device software development lifecycle (IEC 62304, FDA regulations)
  • Observability and monitoring architecture (distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics)
  • BCDR (Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery) architecture and resilience engineering
