We are looking for a Principal Java Developer to join our Order Management team in Istanbul. This is a senior, hands-on role where you will provide technical leadership, improve team processes, and contribute directly to the development of scalable, high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to development teams while actively contributing to the design, development, code reviews, and troubleshooting of complex Java applications.
• Participate in architectural design and technical decisions, building scalable, high-performance distributed backend systems.
• Define and promote technical standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices, ensuring high code quality and maintainability.
• Monitor development progress, proactively identify technical risks or obstacles, and support teams in resolving complex challenges.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Order Management team processes, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional and global teams, providing technical input and supporting alignment across projects.
• Support knowledge sharing and mentoring, including coaching engineers on modern development practices such as AI-assisted development workflows.

About the Ideal Candidate

• Solid expertise in Java, Spring, microservices architecture, and Kafka.

• Hands-on experience with Quarkus is a plus.

• Proven experience in leading technical initiatives, solving complex problems, and improving backend software development processes.

• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe, and experience working with multithreaded applications.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Collaborative, proactive, and able to work autonomously while contributing technical guidance across projects.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills in complex, multi-team environments.

• Drives technical excellence, process improvements, and best practices in backend development, testing, security, and operations.
