Join the POS Software Engineering team. As a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll ensure high-quality technology solutions (infrastructure, software, middleware, etc.). On multiple large and complex projects and inter-related programs, the Principal Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for all project quality assurance activities, including developing automated test cases for user stories and code scripts using industry-standard programming languages. The Principal Quality Assurance Engineer defines quality assurance processes and testing strategies and mentors all levels of Quality Assurance Engineers as needed.

Your Impact:

  • Assist in leading an existing team of manual and automation test engineers
  • Mentor and develop the Quality Assurance team to drive testing efficiencies across the Publix POS Anywhere Application team
  • Create comprehensive manual and automated test scripts and test cases ensuring they meet business requirements specifications
  • Analyze enhancements and new features on the Publix POS Anywhere Application, validate and code automation test scripts using Playwright and C#
  • Work with Scrum teams to understand feature user stories and impacts
  • Attend backlog refinements to provide estimates for script creation and updates
  • Write or update test cases based on changes coming in from user stories
  • Log defects and communicate with software engineers and manual testers on bug fixes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of software testing and quality assurance experience
  • 3+ years of experience in creating automation test strategies and writing automation scripts using industry-standard programming languages
  • 3+ years of experience with Playwright or Selenium
  • 3+ years of experience developing testing software using tools such as Postman, SoapUI or JMeter to build API Tests and to run API testing and Performance Testing
  • 3+ years of experience in developing testing software frameworks and test scripts using programming languages such as C# and TypeScript
  • Experience working with VSCode and Visual Studio 2019 or later
  • Experience in an Agile SCRUM Environment
  • Experience with backend ETL test automation
  • Experience writing and executing SQL queries to validate test results
  • Experience writing and executing manual and automated test cases for feature sets on various applications, including websites/desktop or mobile apps using Azure DevOps or Jira

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software testing and quality assurance experience
  • 6+ years of experience in creating automation test strategies and writing automation scripts using industry-standard programming languages
  • 6+ years of experience with Playwright
  • 6+ years of automated testing experience with tools like Selenium or other automated testing frameworks
