This role sits within the Private Credit investment team and focuses on portfolio construction, analytics, implementation, and risk monitoring across the firm's private credit strategies. The successful candidate will lead portfolio analytics initiatives, support allocation and portfolio management decisions, and contribute across the investment lifecycle from opportunity screening through ongoing portfolio monitoring and client reporting. The role offers potential for significant responsibility and visibility across the investment process, with regular interaction with investment professionals, senior leadership, and institutional clients.

This position is ideally based in Aksia's New York office but can be worked remotely or from our Chicago or San Diego offices.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to portfolio planning, construction, and rebalancing activities to support strategic and tactical allocation decisions.
    • Analyze portfolio fit, diversification, concentration limits, and implementation considerations across investment opportunities.
    • Coordinate investment execution from approval through closing in partnership with investment, legal, tax, finance, and operations teams.
    • Assist with onboarding new funds, mandates, and client portfolios, including portfolio setup and operational readiness

Investment Analytics & Deal Support

    • Maintain transaction databases, portfolio records, and investment datasets, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
    • Support deal pipeline management, investment screening, and preparation of investment committee materials.
    • Develop and maintain market, comparable transaction, and portfolio analytics to support underwriting and portfolio decision-making.
    • Produce portfolio performance, deployment, attribution, and exposure analyses across strategies, sectors, geographies, and risk characteristics.
    • Translate portfolio insights and trends into actionable recommendations for portfolio construction and management decisions

Risk Monitoring and Portfolio Oversight

    • Maintain portfolio monitoring and risk frameworks in partnership with the investment team.
    • Analyze portfolio exposures, diversification, liquidity, leverage, covenant compliance, and other key risk indicators.
    • Support deployment planning, pacing analysis, and rebalancing activities across funds and mandates.
    • Monitor watch-list investments, portfolio guideline compliance, and emerging portfolio risks.

Fund Financing and Platform Support

    • Manage cash and liquidity coordination across vehicles, including FX considerations where applicable.
    • Coordinate financing activities with finance, operations, legal teams, and external lenders.
    • Support management of fund-level financing facilities, including subscription lines and other borrowing arrangements.
    • Monitor facility utilization, liquidity, covenant compliance, and related reporting requirements.

Reporting and Stakeholder Management

    • Support portfolio reviews, client reporting, and investment committee materials across the private credit platform.
    • Contribute to market commentary, portfolio updates, and investment content for clients and prospects.
    • Drive improvements in portfolio analytics, reporting processes, data management, and cross-functional workflows.

Qualifications:

  • 6–15 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, or similar private markets platform, with exposure to portfolio management, analytics, implementation, or risk functions.
  • Familiarity with private markets data structures, fund mechanics, loan tape analysis, and portfolio allocation processes.
  • Strong quantitative capabilities, with the ability to synthesize investment, portfolio, and market data into actionable insights and clear deliverables.
  • Strong command of private credit portfolio analytics, including performance measurement (IRR, TVPI, DPI, PME), attribution, and exposure analysis.
