Enjoy the Flexibility.Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics (GMHC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Room/Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join our medical team on a PRN basis.This opportunity is ideal for a physician who values clinical autonomy, enjoys the variety of emergency and inpatient medicine, and wants to make a meaningful difference in a rural healthcare setting.As a Critical Access Hospital, GMHC offers a collaborative, team-oriented environment where providers play a vital role in delivering personalized, high-quality care to the communities we serve.What You'll DoEvaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergency medical conditions.Provide medical management for hospitalized patients, including daily rounds, treatment planning, and discharge coordination.Respond to medical emergencies, including Rapid Response and Code Blue situations.Order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, and implement appropriate treatment plans.Coordinate patient transfers, referrals, and consultations when additional services or specialized care are needed.Collaborate with nursing, respiratory therapy, laboratory, radiology, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, coordinated patient care.Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation while adhering to hospital policies and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and EMTALA.What We're Looking ForDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.Current, unrestricted Iowa medical license.Federal DEA registration and Iowa controlled substance authority (CSA).Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Additional certifications and clinical competencies consistent with hospital credentialing and privileges.Strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage a broad range of patient conditions.Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care skills.Commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare in a rural community.Why Join GMHC?At GMHC, you'll find an opportunity to practice medicine in an environment that values your experience, judgment, and contributions.
