A bit about us:

We are a neurosurgical private practice, located in various locations in NJ who is looking to hire an experienced, independent, and self-motivated PRN Physician Assistant. Position is for in house, night shifts only. Duties will include inpatient hospital consults, management of surgical patients in the preoperative/perioperative period, responding to acute stroke calls/consults, and surgical first assist as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Evaluates inpatient consults and rounds on hospital patients as requested by the group’s surgeonsIndependently assess patients and order appropriate labs/radiology tests/consultsPerforms history & physicals, writes pre and post operative orders for surgeonPossess excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, creative problem solving and critical thinking skillsPrescribe medications according to New Jersey State law, including controlled substances with DEA authorizationMaintains board certificationMaintains annual CME requirement for re-appointment and privilegingMaintains current expertise in area of practicePromotes own professional growth and development in clinical roleWorks collaboratively with the attending physicians & PA team to maintain timely and appropriate communicationWorks collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team including the attending physicians to develop and implement the therapeutic plan of care for requesting attending surgeonsAssists in surgical cases as needed

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Master's of Science in Physician Assistant StudiesNew Jersey Physician Assistant LicenseNew Jersey DEA LicenseNew Jersey CDS LicenseACLS, BLSJob Type: PRN
