A Day in the Life of a Physical Therapist Assistant
As a PTA in home health care, you play a vital role in helping patients improve mobility, strength, and independence. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing treatments planned, delegated, and supervised by the evaluating Physical Therapist
- Assisting with therapeutic exercises and functional mobility training
- Teaching patients and caregivers how to safely perform exercises and activities
- Coordinating care with other home health team members to ensure well‑rounded treatment
- Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with CMS requirements, including functional reassessments
- Practicing infection control and universal precautions
- Reporting suspected abuse according to state and federal guidelines
- Assisting with new‑hire orientation and participating in training activities when needed

Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Current Oklahoma PTA license in good standing
- At least 1 year of physical therapy experience
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
