Process Improvement & Operations Intern (Manufacturing Operations)

R2Net is a diamond bridal jewelry company with a technology soul. R2Net Inc. is an innovative technology company that provides e-commerce and supply chain platforms to connect the entire span of the diamond industry ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers, and consumers. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support the development of a process management system within our manufacturing operations. This role will focus on mapping, analyzing, and documenting core production workflows to improve visibility, standardization, and performance across the factory. 

The intern will work directly with operations leadership and cross-functional teams to build foundational tools that enhance training, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities: 

• Develop clear and standardized process flow diagrams and swim lane diagrams for key workflows to show handoffs, ownership, inputs, outputs and system/tools used  

• Identify bottlenecks and constraints, define metrics to quantify performance, identify failure modes, and highlight waste 

• Process Documentation 

• Create structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with mapped processes 

• Standardize quality checks for inputs and outputs (what it means for input to be ready and for output to be done?) 

• Support development of training modules from the process including training guides, checklists and sign-off sheets. 

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or related field  

• Skills & Capabilities: 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to break down complex processes into clear, structured steps 

• High attention to detail and organizational skills 

• Strong communication skills (ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders) 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) is a plus 

Benefits

Hourly base pay:  $17.00 - $19.50 Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications. At this time, R2NET will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
