Job Description
Ameron is seeking a Night Shift Process Production Lead. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all welding production processes. In this role, you will be responsible for leading hourly employees to achieve manufacturing production goals.
- Schedule: M-Th, 4p-2:30a + $2.50/hr Shift Differential (Occasional Fridays Required) *
What You'll Do:
- Sets up equipment and welders to ensure Volts and Amps are correct to the W.P.S. Check Pre-Heat and joint configuration, Check for proper weld size according to print and customer spec.
- Assists in communicating responsibilities and production requirements to the workers on the plant floor.
- Conducts weld checks on product during process and adjusts or changes tools as necessary.
- Troubleshoot problems throughout the plant at all work centers.
- Monitor attendance and tardiness of all shop workers to ensure customers' requirements can be satisfied.
- Assumes supervisory responsibilities when the Production Supervisor is absent.
- Interdepartmental interface for production needs.
- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
- Perform visual quality checks
- Ensure that production schedules are achieved.
- Ensure that production is performed in an efficient and competent manner.
- Operate and monitor equipment such as forklifts, powered hand tools, and overhead cranes.
- Communicates with management and supervisors as required.
- Ability to lift > 50 pounds
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing
- Work overtime as needed.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas on production floors.
- Lead and participate in daily safety meetings and safety committees/initiatives.
- Train, guide, and assist co-workers as needed.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, production manuals, and work instructions.
- Follow all company principles, safety rules, and regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic facilities maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with heavy manufacturing welding processes.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mobile/heavy equipment is required.
- Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and verify dimensional requirements.
- Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, Office. Ability to learn new MRP systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong dependability and attendance.
