Job Title: Product Assembly & Returns Specialist

Department: Business Operations & Logistics

Reports To: Lab Manager

Supervises: N/A

Salary: Non-Exempt/Hourly; $18-$22 per hour

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Assembly & Returns Specialist is responsible for assembling our IoT devices and chemical control systems prior to shipment, as well as processing returned equipment for repair, troubleshooting, or refurbishment. The Product Assembly & Returns Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the quality and functionality of the products shipped to our clients.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assembly & Packaging
  • Assemble, test, and ship out all IoT devices and chemical controller systems based on work instructions and product specifications
  • Ensure proper labeling, cabling, packaging, and documentation is included with each shipment
  • Conduct basic function checks or QA before products are shipped to clients
  • Returns & Troubleshooting
  • Receive and inspect returned equipment, logging return details and condition
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis to detect and report product malfunctions, including testing various scenarios or simulating user experiences
  • Collaborate with team members by sharing feature requests and suggesting effective workarounds for common to advanced issues
  • Assist in diagnosing basic issues with returned items and preparing them for return, refurbishment, or disposal
  • Repackage and return working equipment to inventory or prepare it for re-shipment
  • Warehouse & Lab Operations
  • Keep work areas in warehouse and lab clean and organized; maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and consumables
  • Follow safety guidelines and warehouse protocols during all operations
  • Support general warehouse duties as needed (e.g., shipping preparation, organizing inventory, labeling)
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools like screwdrivers, pliers, and label printers
  • Ability to follow written instructions, stay organized, and complete tasks with accuracy and consistency
  • Basic knowledge of CRM systems and their functionality
  • Proficient in utilizing computer systems and adept at navigating various software programs efficiently
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients, team members, vendors
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to exhibit patience when addressing challenging cases
  • Strong organizational abilities, enabling effective time management and successful multitasking
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Demonstrated adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, responding adeptly to changing priorities and customer needs
  • Collaborative mindset to contribute to cross-functional teams and achieve common goals
  • Highly self-motivated and passionately driven to achieve professional success
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, and push objects weighing up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis
  • Willingness and availability to work on weekends and holidays if needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • N/A

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in assembly, warehouse, or electronics handling preferred
  • Pool industry experience a plus, especially in equipment troubleshooting and diagnosis, replacement, etc.
  • Must obtain CPO license within first 90 days in position
  • Experience using computer software programs required; experience with GSuite and/or MS Office preferred
  • Experience using CRM systems required; experience with HubSpot and NetSuite is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Ability to communicate in a second language a plus!
