The Impact You’ll Make

As a Product Design Intern at Nextdoor you’ll begin making a difference by contributing to the design of our digital products within your first two weeks. From crafting wireframes to creating prototypes, you’ll immerse yourself in every phase of the design process under the guidance of a mentor. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and researchers, to deliver solutions that enhance the user experience.

During your 12-week internship, you’ll participate in user research, usability testing, and design iterations to solve real-world problems. By contributing to our design systems and brainstorming innovative product features, you’ll leave a lasting impact on the team and our neighborhood community.

Our paid internships are typically 12 weeks, based out of Dallas.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Currently pursuing an education in a design, human-computer interaction, or a related field; graduating between Fall 2026 through Summer 2027 
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to create visually compelling designs
  • A passion for solving user problems and enhancing user experiences
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A strong alignment with Nextdoor’s mission and purpose

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web and mobile applications
  • Participate in user research sessions and translate insights into actionable design improvements
  • Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and other designers to iterate and refine designs
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to enhance the user experience
  • Support the design team in maintaining and evolving our design system
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new product features

The salary for this role is $3,033, paid semi-monthly, plus a semi-monthly housing stipend of $1,000.
