Job Description

Selectek is partnering with a company based near North Augusta, SC to hire a Product Design/Process Improvement Engineer to work on upgrading existing products as well as the production procedures. Employment Type: Contract to Direct Location: North Augusta, SC Expected Pay Range: $40-$45 per hour prior to conversion, based on certifications andexperience Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00a-5:00p onsite Job Duties/Details: Product Design and Development: Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production. Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings Prototype and test new designs, ensuring they meet all functional and safety requirements. Process Improvement: Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Develop and document new processes to enhance product quality and production speed. Manufacturing and Production: Oversee the production of prototypes and final products, ensuring adherence to design specifications. Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the production process. Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of sewing and RF sealing techniques to the design and manufacturing processes. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate into product designs. Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales to ensure product designs/work packets meet customer needs and market demands. Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation and reports. Required: Proven experience in product design and process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Hands-on experience with sewing and RF sealing technologies is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00a – 5:00p.
