Job Description
Selectek is partnering with a company based near North Augusta, SC to hire a Product Design/Process Improvement Engineer to work on upgrading existing products as well as the production procedures. Employment Type: Contract to Direct Location: North Augusta, SCExpected Pay Range: $40-$45 per hour prior to conversion, based on certifications andexperienceSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00a-5:00p onsiteJob Duties/Details:
- Product Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production.* *
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings* *
- Prototype and test new designs, ensuring they meet all functional and safety requirements.*
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.* *
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.* *
- Develop and document new processes to enhance product quality and production speed.* * *
- Manufacturing and Production:
- Oversee the production of prototypes and final products, ensuring adherence to design specifications.* *
- Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing.* *
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the production process.* * *
- Technical Expertise:
- Apply knowledge of sewing and RF sealing techniques to the design and manufacturing processes.* *
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate into product designs.* *
- Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.* * *
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales to ensure product designs/work packets meet customer needs and market demands.* *
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation and reports.* * Required:
- Proven experience in product design and process improvement within a manufacturing environment.*
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).*
- Hands-on experience with sewing and RF sealing technologies is a plus.*
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.*
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.*
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.*
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.*
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
