Job Description
PPG Packaging is looking for candidates for a Product Development Chemist position (PhD level) at our Research and Development Center in Milford, OH. You will support PPG in the development and commercialization of new coatings products, including advancing both current and next-generation coatings technologies for PPG's Food and Beverage Packaging business segment.

Key Responsibilities
Address complex challenges by applying broad chemical expertise alongside appropriate experimental and theoretical research methodologies
Plan, lead, and execute experimental work essential to achieving project goals and driving the development of products for market introduction
Provide technical support for a commercialized product
Communicate scientific and technological information to leadership and global partners
Travel requirements:
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
Demonstrated theoretical knowledge across core areas of chemistry, including inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary integration to solve complex scientific challenges
Solid skills in researching scientific literature, analyzing experimental data, and drawing meaningful conclusions to support research goals and progress
Experience managing important aspects of multiple projects, including guidance of team members and oversight of job-specific responsibilities
We consider proven experience in reaction and chemical process optimization, along with method development, a strong asset.
