Job Description

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the world’s largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. The company’s AI-driven platform, DriveWell® Fusion, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices — including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices — and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behavior. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMT’s platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers across the world every day.

CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Product Management Intern who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Commercial Mobility team and help us figure out what's next. You'll dig into how insurers, fleet managers, and telematics providers operate today, where the gaps are, and where AI-powered tools can deliver real value. This isn't a "sit in meetings and take notes" internship — you'll do real research, shape real product thinking, and work alongside PMs, engineers, designers, and analysts in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Research the commercial auto insurance and fleet telematics landscape — who the players are, how their products work, what's missing, and where the market is heading
  • Evaluate fleet management platforms, data aggregators, and mobility solutions (software, hardware, IoT) — map their capabilities and gaps to inform our product strategy
  • Dig into how insurers, fleet managers, and owner-operators actually use telematics today and identify where customer-focused AI tools can improve value delivery
  • Support product discovery — help us identify customer problems, unmet needs, and new product opportunities grounded in data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (engineering, design, sales, analytics) and external customers to validate findings and contribute to roadmap decisions
  • Shadow Product Management, Design, and Analytics to learn how high-performing product teams solve problems from end to end
  • Help conduct user research and synthesize findings into actionable insights
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing an MBA or a bachelor's degree, or a recent graduate
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills — you break problems down before jumping to solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you can make complex topics clear
  • Genuine curiosity about commercial insurance, fleet management, telematics, connected vehicles, or AI tools (you don't need to be an expert — you need to want to learn)
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • You get a rush when you've solved a problem

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Fair and competitive hourly rate based on education level
  • Flexible scheduling options depending on role and responsibilities

Additional Perks:

  • Feel great working to improve road safety around the world!
  • Join one of our many employee resource groups, including Black, AAPI, LGBTQIA+, Women, Book Club, and Health & Wellness
  • CMT will do all that is possible to support our employees and create a positive and inclusive work environment for all!

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion:

At CMT, we believe the best ideas come from a mix of backgrounds and perspectives.

We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to creating a workplace and culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their unique talents and perspectives. Diversity is essential to our success, and we actively seek candidates from all backgrounds to join our growing team.

We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status or disability state. CMT is headquartered in Cambridge, MA. To learn more, visit www.cmtelematics.com and follow us on X @cmtelematics.
