Job Description

  • Ares is seeking a dynamic and motivated Technology Product Manager to join our growing Legal, Risk & Compliance Technology team. This individual will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of technology solutions that enhance the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of our Compliance functions.
  • The ideal candidate will partner closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Operations, and Technology to define, prioritize, and execute key initiatives that align with broader business objectives. Serving as a strategic liaison between business strategy and technology execution, this person will design, build, and manage products that support organizational goals and strengthen our regulatory and operational capabilities.
  • This role requires a proactive, forward‑looking mindset to identify improvement opportunities, leverage innovative technologies, and ensure seamless integration across systems and processes. The Product Manager will oversee the full product lifecycle—spanning ideation, requirements definition, design, development, implementation, and post‑launch optimization—while collaborating with cross‑functional teams including IT, business partners, and external vendors.
  • A strong background in technology product management within Compliance domains is essential, along with exceptional communication, stakeholder‑management, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will also drive continuous enhancement of products and systems to improve operational efficiency, with a primary focus on Regulatory Compliance–related capabilities.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own the product strategy and roadmap for the Regulatory Compliance portfolio, aligning priorities with compliance leadership, enterprise objectives, and Corporate Technology direction. 
    • Provide product expertise, and support for initiatives related to product development, Compliance operational and process improvements, vendor management, product documentation, and/or system releases.
    • Collaborate with the Compliance team members on technology roadmap and ongoing deliverables; Proactively manage demand and competing priorities.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in managing, designing, and implementing existing and new systems. This includes capturing business requirements, designing technical solutions, and working with internal and external partners to deliver stable solutions.
    • Act as the "keeper (and communicator) of the vision" to translate the product strategy and vision developed with business stakeholders into scalable and operational technology deliverables.
    • Lead and coordinate delivery across the full product lifecycle: design, build oversight, testing/UAT, release management, change management, training, adoption tracking, and post-launch support. 
    • Coordinate cross-platform dependencies and roadmap sequencing with other product owners and platform teams to ensure end-to-end outcomes across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Data. 
    • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Data teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards for resiliency, identity/access controls, privacy, data governance, records retention, and auditability. 
    • Define and maintain platform governance: prioritization processes, backlog management, release discipline, documentation, and operational readiness standards. 
    • Manage vendor relationships and delivery partners as needed, including selection support, roadmap alignment, implementation oversight, and service performance management. 
    • Provide executive-ready communications and reporting: roadmap progress, risks/issues, dependencies, KPIs, and clear decision points with recommendations. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 10+ years of experience in technology product management, business analysis, or delivery leadership supporting compliance systems in financial services or similarly complex environments. 
    • Bachelor’s degree required; technology background preferred. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence across senior stakeholders and technical teams. 
    • Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. 

    Experience Required:  

    • 10+ years of Compliance technology domain experience as a business analyst or product manager.
    • Working knowledge of investor, fund, and investment lifecycle, specifically related to regulatory and compliance oversight.
    • Experience in the Compliance domain   – working knowledge workflows covering Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Transaction Monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC), Conflicts Checks, Regulatory Reporting, etc.
    • Experience with one or more (or comparable) Compliance platforms such as Pega, Moody’s, ACA, , Archer, Intapp
    • Track record of successfully implementing Compliance systems and taking end-to-end ownership of deliverables.
    • Strong background in technology process mapping, end-user journey mapping, and detailed requirements gathering.
    • The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjust to changing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • The ability to lead collaborative working groups of multiple disciplines, manage project timelines and budgets, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners, vendors, and consultants within the finance and technology industry.

    Compensation

    The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

    $200,000 - $225,000
