Job Description

Product Manager

Overview

Billee Technologies is looking for a Product Manager to help scale our product development operations and grow into feature ownership as our team expands.

You'll start by bringing structure and clarity to our product operations: tracking work, maintaining documentation, running business QA, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. But this isn't a permanent ops role. As you build domain expertise in utility billing and establish credibility with Engineering, you'll take on increasing PM responsibility: owning features, leading discovery work, and contributing to product strategy.

This role is ideal for someone earlier in their PM career (1-3 years) who understands that strong product management starts with excellent execution, and who's excited to help build the operational foundation while growing into strategic ownership.

Who We Are

Billee Technologies Inc. is a Dallas-based SaaS startup revolutionizing utility billing for multifamily apartment communities. Our intuitive, cloud-based platform streamlines operations, eliminates inefficiencies, and increases NOI for property owners and operators. At Billee, we are more than just a technology company. We are a team of innovators and problem solvers. Led by seasoned product and technology practitioners, we challenge traditional providers by offering smarter, more efficient solutions for this overlooked pocket in multifamily proptech.

Our culture is the foundation of our success. We believe in empowering and developing our people, ensuring they thrive both professionally and personally. Our core values define how we work and what we stand for:

  • Win Together – We believe in collaboration and collective success. When one of us wins, we all win.
  • Lead with Integrity – We hold ourselves accountable, operate with transparency, and always do what we say we'll do.
  • Relentless Determination – We tackle challenges head-on, with persistence and decisive action.
  • Bold Voices – We encourage open dialogue and foster a culture where every voice matters.
  • Stay Curious – We are lifelong learners, always seeking new ways to innovate, improve, and grow.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project tracking & visibility: Maintain clear status on all bugs, feature requests, and in-flight work across Product and Engineering. Be the source of truth for "where is this?"
  • Documentation & organization: Keep Linear organized, acceptance criteria clear, and project documentation current and findable
  • Business QA: Review changes before production release to catch issues from product and user perspectives. You're the final check that what ships matches what we intended
  • Coordination & follow-through: Surface blockers, chase down answers, and keep work moving forward
  • Product ownership (growing): As you develop domain expertise, take on feature ownership, lead customer discovery, and contribute to roadmap and strategy discussions

What a typical week looks like:

  • Daily standup coordination and documentation
  • Reviewing and organizing incoming feature requests and bug reports
  • QA testing upcoming releases against acceptance criteria
  • Updating Linear tickets and maintaining sprint documentation
  • Stakeholder check-ins to gather feedback and requirements
  • Contributing to weekly product sync and sprint planning

As you build domain expertise and Engineering trust, you'll spend less time on tactical coordination and more time on strategic PM work: customer discovery, roadmap planning, feature ownership, and product strategy.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of product management experience, or equivalent experience in adjacent roles (technical program management, product operations, customer success engineering, solutions consulting)
  • Demonstrated ability to organize complex work streams and maintain clarity across teams
  • Strong written communication: you can write clear documentation, ticket descriptions, and stakeholder updates
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in an agile/iterative development environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid context-switching
  • Familiarity with product management tools (Linear, Jira, Productboard, etc.)

Strongly Preferred

  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS, proptech, or real estate technology
  • Background gathering and synthesizing customer feedback into product requirements
  • Exposure to business intelligence, reporting, or data-heavy product features
  • Experience conducting user testing or customer discovery interviews

Ideal Candidate

  • Process-oriented: You like building and maintaining systems that keep things organized. A clean backlog makes you happy. You've probably color-coded something in your personal life that didn't need to be color-coded.
  • Detail-obsessed but not paralyzed: You catch small errors others miss, but you also know when something is good enough to move forward. You balance rigor with momentum.
  • Proactive communicator: You don't wait to be asked for status updates. You surface issues early. You're comfortable saying "I don't know yet, but I'll find out."
  • Execution-first mindset: You understand that the best PMs build credibility through reliable delivery before earning strategic influence. You're not too senior to get into the weeds.
  • Domain learning orientation: You don't need to know utility billing or multifamily operations coming in, but you're genuinely curious. You'll read industry reports, join customer calls, and build real expertise in the problem space.
  • Team-oriented: You see your job as making other people more effective. You're not focused on individual credit, you care about team outcomes. You're energized by being the reliable person on the team.
  • Growth mindset: You see operational work as the foundation for a PM career, not a detour from it. You understand that great product sense often starts with deep understanding of execution.

Where You'll Sit

This role is part of our Product team, reporting to our Product Director. You'll work closely with Engineering, collaborating daily to keep work flowing smoothly. As you grow, you'll take on increasing ownership of product areas and contribute more directly to discovery and strategy.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $100,000 to $105,000
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off and flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Opportunity for earned equity
