Job Description

John Hancock Retirement is redefining our US Retirement business to help customers save for retirement. The team focuses on delivering solutions that create engaging and streamlined experiences for customers using digital platforms. The Product Manager is a key component to drive our US Retirement product delivery model.

The Product Manager will facilitate delivering engaging, streamlined digital experiences on our platforms. Acting as the voice of the business and customer within a SAFe agile model, this role translates strategy, vision, and OKRs into prioritized, outcome-driven work. The role contributes to the product vision and roadmap by aligning business goals with actionable results.

You will own feature outcomes and support the development and launch of new product capabilities, remove roadblocks and drive delivery. The role requires strong leadership and communication, 5+ years in business/project management (SAFe PM/PO preferred), and proven product development experience in financial services.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate and support the development and launch of new product features and services, as well as act as subject matter expert for existing offerings.

  • Leverage industry knowledge and research to improve the competitiveness of product offering.

  • Lead cross-functional core teams in product development initiatives, ensuring that projects are implemented according to plan and that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

  • Drive projects to completion; help the business make key decisions in a timely manner; seek consensus.

  • Utilize market research to help influence major product development decisions.

  • Work with functional partners to synthesize feedback from the field and prioritize the product development queue.

  • Evaluate industry trends, regulatory changes and competitive environment.

  • Partner with finance and underwriting to ensure profitable product model.

  • Support relationships with external vendors, and key business partners, while ensuring needs are aligned to business objectives.

  • Develop a leadership presence within the organization.

  • Assist and participate in presentations to various stakeholders and audiences as necessary (client presentations, department presentations, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5-10 years of specific business experience.

  • In-depth knowledge/experience of product development and management within the financial services business.

  • Proven product development experience and results.

  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, influencing and relationship-building skills.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including a developed ability to present to audiences of varying backgrounds and expertise.

  • Proven project and people management experience.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet key deadlines.

  • Strategic thinker with good judgment and strong understanding of process.

  • Interpretative and conceptual skills

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,475.00 USD - $160,290.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
