Product Specialist, Sheetfed West
Position Overview:
The Product Specialist, Sheetfed West is responsible for supporting sheetfed product sales and market development within the West Region. This role works closely with Account Managers, Sales, and Service teams to drive achievement of annual operating plan (AOP) goals and expand market share.
The Product Specialist serves as a technical expert in sheetfed offset products, providing product knowledge, sales support, and strategic guidance. The role also acts as a liaison between regional sales teams, executive management, and global counterparts in Germany. While the primary focus is the West Region, the role may support additional opportunities across North America as needed.
Successful performance in this role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to identify customer needs, and the ability to communicate product value effectively to internal teams and customers.

What you will do:
1. Sales and Technical Support (65%)Provide ongoing technical and product support to field sales and service teams, including participation in customer meetings, demonstrations, and product presentations.
2. Competitive Market Analysis (10%)Analyze competitive positioning and identify strengths and weaknesses relative to competitors. Communicate findings to sales teams and management while aligning strategies with customer needs.
3. Sales Strategy Development (10%)Recommend and communicate effective sales strategies to support revenue growth and improve market positioning.
4. Forecasting Support (5%)Assist in regional forecasting and pipeline development for sheetfed opportunities.
5. Cross-Product Support (5%)Provide support for additional Heidelberg products as assigned.
6. Operational and Financial Insight (5%)Identify operational inefficiencies or profitability concerns and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions.
Regular attendance and timeliness are required. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be necessary to support business needs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in trade shows, presentations, and customer events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education
Associate’s degree or completion of a vocational apprenticeship program in a related field is required.
Experience
7–10 years of relevant industry experience is required.
Training
Extensive job-related training (7+ months) may be required to fully perform the responsibilities of this role.

- Sheetfed press operation knowledge
- Product manufacturing and printing industry expertise

Technical Skills
Proficiency in the following tools is required:
- Microsoft Excel

- Microsoft Outlook
- CRM systems (MS-CRM or similar)
- Basic personal computer proficiency
Travel Requirements
Travel: Frequent (approximately 34–66% of the time)
Travel is required to support customer visits, product demonstrations, and regional sales activities.
Working Conditions
The role may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing or printing environments where the following conditions may occur:
- Noise
- Dust or fumes
- Mechanical equipment
- Electrical or mechanical hazards
Appropriate safety procedures and equipment must be followed at all times.
Physical Requirements
The role may involve:
- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer
- Occasional standing or walking during demonstrations or facility visits
- Repetitive use of hands for computer work
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds

Internal Contacts:Sales, Service, Marketing, and other departments across Heidelberg.
External Contacts:Customers, vendors, and industry partners.
Additional Expectations
This role requires a strong sales mindset. The Product Specialist must be comfortable asking for the order, closing business opportunities, and identifying customer needs. The ability to work independently, maintain industry knowledge, and effectively present solutions to executive-level decision-makers is critical to success.
Performance is evaluated through sales performance metrics, monthly reporting, and the annual performance review process.
Salary: $100,000 +/-
