Codis is currently hiring for a Production Associate in the Coating operations area. This position can be performed on either 2nd shift (3:00PM - 11:30PM) or 3rd shift (11PM - 7:30AM).
Job Summary: The Pharmaceutical Coating Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining coating equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role ensures that tablets are coated according to batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup• Set up coating machines for production runs based on batch records and specifications.• Load tablets into the coating machine and operate equipment throughout the coating process.• Monitor process parameters (e.g., temperature, spray pressure, pan speed) and make adjustments as needed.Solution Preparation• Prepare coating solutions accurately by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients per batch record instructions.• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work areas to prevent contamination.
Quality Control & Documentation
• Perform in-process checks, take measurements (e.g., tablet coating thickness), and inspect for quality deviations.• Document all setup, process adjustments, cleaning activities, and quality checks in production logs or batch records.Maintenance & Safety• Maintain coating machine and related equipment in good working condition; report wear or malfunctions to supervisors.• Clean and disassemble machines after runs according to SOPs.• Follow safety policies, company procedures, and cGMP guidelines at all times.Additional• Assist with other manufacturing department tasks as required.
Typical Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED• Coating machines or other pharmaceutical production equipment is preferred.• Basic math and measurement skills.• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions (SOPs and batch records).• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety compliance.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Manufacturing floor setting with adherence to GMP and safety standards.• May require standing for extended periods, lifting up to ~50 lbs, and performing repetitive tasks.• Exposure to powders, solvents, or coating materials, depending on facility protocols.
