Job Description

About the Company

Our client is a growing U.S.-based hardware manufacturer with locations in St. Petersburg, FL and Bonney Lake, WA. The company develops hardware solutions supporting software adoption, AI-driven services, and patient engagement across healthcare and enterprise environments. The team runs on clear priorities, real accountability, and a culture where ownership is expected and great work gets noticed.

Role Overview

We are looking for a working leader for our Florida operation. This is a hands-on supervisory role with a clear path to full site-level ownership of the St. Petersburg facility. During your first 30 to 60 days, you will work the production floor yourself, learning the complete build process, quality standards, and inventory practices until you can build the product independently. From there, you will lead and develop the Florida production crew, and you will continue to roll up your sleeves and work hand in hand with the team whenever the operation calls for it, whether that is assembly, shipping and receiving, or quality checks.

Beyond production, this role owns the building itself. You will take full responsibility for the Florida location as a whole, including facility upkeep, safety, security, vendor coordination, and maintenance, so the site runs smoothly, stays compliant, and represents the company well every single day.

This is not a role for someone who leads from a desk. We need someone structured, proactive, and accountable, a person who builds process where none exists, spots problems before they become issues, and takes complete ownership of outcomes for the people, the production floor, and the building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally perform assembly and production work during the initial 30 to 60 days to master the full build process and set the production standard for the site
  • Supervise, schedule, and develop the Florida production and assembly crew, setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable to quality and output standards
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and train additional production employees as volume grows, with an initial expectation of adding approximately two assemblers within the first 90 days as demand supports the headcount
  • Work directly alongside the crew as needed, stepping into assembly, shipping and receiving, and other floor-level work to keep the operation moving
  • Own quality control for the Florida site, enforcing standards and driving continuous improvement in processes and workflows
  • Take full responsibility for the St. Petersburg facility: building maintenance, safety and OSHA compliance, security, cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and vendor and contractor coordination
  • Build structure and repeatable processes that allow the Florida operation to scale, including SOPs, production tracking, and floor organization
  • Serve as the on-site point of accountability for the Florida location, escalating and communicating proactively with the Director of Operations
  • Support inventory, materials, and supply coordination in partnership with supply chain
  • Model and reinforce a culture of ownership, safety, and pride in the workplace

Qualifications — Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or a similar operating environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory, team leadership, or frontline operations leadership experience
  • Demonstrated comfort working on the floor alongside the team, not just directing it
  • A structured, proactive working style: you plan ahead, follow through, and do not wait to be told
  • Experience building structure, improving processes, or scaling operations in a growth-stage environment
  • Proven track record of quality control enforcement and clear ownership of results
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing frontline employees
  • Experience with, or strong aptitude for, facilities oversight: maintenance coordination, safety, and vendor management
  • Strong communication skills and command presence

Qualifications — Preferred

  • Background in light manufacturing, assembly-based operations, or medical device production
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training or certification
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory management, or manufacturing software
  • Forklift certification and/or OSHA 10/30
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced production floor environment. The role requires direct, hands-on participation in production and assembly, particularly during the first 30 to 60 days and as business needs require thereafter. The position may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. for extended periods, with exposure to noise, machinery, tools, and temperature fluctuations.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $75,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a performance-based bonus component tied to operational results. As production scales and the team grows, this role includes phase-based increases in pay and responsibility. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Equal Opportunity Employer

We are an equal opportunity employer. All employment decisions are made on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need, without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
