Job Description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

The Components Test (CTEST) team is responsible for developing and producing the test systems that validate satellite and gateway hardware for the Starlink program. The Production Control Scheduler will provide critical tactical scheduling support to the teams building and deploying test systems in a high-impact, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on coordination role that demands precision, foresight, and relentless focus on keeping complex production schedules on track. This role will orchestrate inputs across manufacturing, development, engineering, and supply chain to deliver test systems on time by maintaining accurate master schedules, proactively mitigating risks, and delivering clear daily priorities.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to maintain schedules for outsourced test equipment and address blockers as they arise
  • Source and onboard new suppliers to establish a strong test equipment supply chain which may include shops for harnessing, electrical panels, mechanical fabrication, and circuit boards
  • Prepare daily work schedules for multiple areas, track progress, update critical path schedules, and communicate adjustments
  • Execute purchase orders, track progress on deliveries, and address any discrepancies as they arise
  • Utilize ERP (enterprise resource planning), MES (manufacturing execution systems), and material requirements planning (MRP) systems to coordinate test rack builds and inventory
  • Assist in root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues, provide feedback to improve planning, and support development of streamlined processes between production and planning

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of manufacturing scheduling, planning or operations; OR 3+ years of professional experience with manufacturing scheduling, planning or operations in lieu of a degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience managing manufacturing of electrical components/system (Electrical Panels, Harnessing, Circuit Board Fabrication, Electrician prefabrication, etc.)
  • Technical knowledge and skills in coding and computer applications (e.g. MS Office Suite, VBA, Smartsheet, SQL, Confluence, JIRA, Power BI, etc.)
  • Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding of lean principles, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement concepts
  • Familiarity with root-cause analysis methodologies and problem-solving
  • Awareness of NFPA, UL508A or similar codes/standards

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to travel (less than 5% of role)
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Production Scheduler/Level I: $78,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year

Production Scheduler/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
