Job Description
Toolmaker - Day Shift Direct Hire$28 to $40+ per hour Waterbury, CT. Transfer Press experience - preferred Deep Draw experience - preferred Eyelet Production experience - preferred Day Shift 5AM to 5PMKey Responsibilities
- Build, repair, and maintain complex tooling, transfer fingers, and gauges
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, and verbal instructions
- Set up tooling for production runs and perform changeovers
- Conduct sample runs and submit first-piece inspections for quality approval
- Troubleshoot production issues and make necessary tool adjustments or repairs
- Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling to ensure optimal performance
- Use hand tools and precision equipment to grind, fit, and finish tooling
- Perform tool hardening according to specifications
- Create spare parts and assist with machinery repairs as needed
- Enter SPC data and perform basic computer data entry
- Work collaboratively in a team or cell-based environment
- Strong experience in toolmaking, preferably with deep draw or transfer press tooling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of shop math and trigonometry
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing production tooling
- Apprenticeship certification is a plus, but not required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Comfortable working around moving machinery, vibration, and industrial conditions (heat, humidity, fumes, etc.)
- Perform tooling changeovers efficiently
- Support and guide machine operators on proper equipment use
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
