Job Description
Job Summary The Production Operator works closely with Coater and Facer Backer Operators to produce quality products that meet customer specifications. This role ensures proper raw materials are used, substrates are defect-free, and production processes are executed safely and efficiently. Strong communication with operators and supervisors is essential to maintain product quality and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Ac curately produce quality product in accordance with work orders, SOPs, and customer specifications. Ensure safety, setup, and quality standards are communicated and maintained across production teams. Calculate units of measure for raw materials used/unused. Record operational data neatly and accurately using appropriate forms and codes. Maintain MSDS knowledge of all raw materials used at the unwind station. Provide backup support to coater and facer backer operators. Monitor raw materials for defects and report non-conforming products. Utilize knowledge of accumulator racks, splicing, tension control, and adjustments. Identify opportunities for improved procedures, efficiencies, and housekeeping. Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity. Plant and Environmental Safety Adhere to Client “Safer Together” safety standard. Comply with all plant rules, safety regulations, and environmental procedures. Inspect equipment before and during use, maintaining cleanliness and operational readiness. Report accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately. Participate in safety, quality, Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and housekeeping programs. Understand and comply with Lock Tag Try procedures. Other Duties C ommunicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Support training and development of colleagues. Demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities. Maintain regular attendance and follow SOPs. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications H igh school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Manufacturing or process-related experience preferred. Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Basic mathematics skills. Effective communication skills in English (read, write, speak, understand). Computer and Software Competencies Basic data entry skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, pallet labeling systems (IVC), Ignition, and SAP. Essential Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
