Union Electric Steel (UES) is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our Supply Chain Group based in Burgettstown, PA. Job Summary:
- Set up and maintain production routings in Oracle - assign lot numbers, build job batches, and apply orders to the schedule.
- Schedule the weekly melt requirements aligning production capabilities and customer demand.
- Process receiving reports and consumable orders, including requisitions and batch closeout.
- Coordinate material shipments between UES facilities and outside suppliers and distribute schedules and notices to the affected departments.
- Partner with Production Planning management and plant operations to make sure key priorities are understood and followed.
- Learn the shipping and receiving process to backup coverage as needed for that position.
- Troubleshoot job and batch problems with planning, the melt shop, and operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
- Sharp attention to detail
- Solid Excel skills and the confidence to learn a new ERP system.
- Clear communication through all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to work on the plant floor in PPE and put in occasional overtime.
- Manufacturing, scheduling, shipping, or production-office experience; exposure to Oracle or another ERP/MRP system; coursework in supply chain or operations.
