Purpose
With the direction of the site leader this position will manage the Production Services functions located at the site. Working in close collaboration the plant Operations Manager, this positions scope of responsibility will include the direction of all planning, customer services, and shipping related functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction and developmental activities for the Production Services functions
- Recruit, mentor, set goals, motivate, evaluate and coach employees. Develop plans for annual performance and employee development while managing to department budget
- Work with site operations in the coordination of efforts to maximize planning, output, customer requests and shipping requirements.
- Review the work of direct reports and their staff ensuring all objectives, usage, and cost targets are being met.
- Develop and implement through staff, plans to correct deficiencies while complying with all policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement lean principles for maximizing key facets of each service function to; facilitate identification of process improvements that decrease costs, improve productivity/quality while maintaining a safe operation. This will include identification, development, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on these process improvement initiatives.
- Provide direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.
- Review customer orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to support department operations and establish appropriate priorities and sequences
- Works closely with sales to ensure product delivery and new market opportunities by facilitating in a timely manner.
- Work in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to all safety rules and practices.
- Represent the company's core values of being committed, action oriented, and sustainable.
