About the Role

Essity Health and Medical Solutions is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for our feminine hygiene (Playtex) manufacturing facility located in Dover, DE. This will be a first shift position with occasional weekends required.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise and coordinate all related operations activity in the Fem Care department on shift and provide direction /leadership in the achievement of established goals.
  • Maintains working knowledge of schedules, safety, quality, cost, material utilization, and efficiency/OEE.
  • Develops and coordinates production/maintenance schedules and manpower planning.
  • Analyze costs, material utilization, and inventory levels to resolve variances. Develops necessary controls to monitor these areas.
  • Optimizes flexibility of human resources, processes and equipment (Person, Method, and Machine).
  • Directs day-to-day support services, including maintenance, to insure continuous and effective production operations.
  • Understands and directs safety and housekeeping and environmental initiatives within assigned area.
  • Develops, administers and/or presents hourly colleague training.
  • Provides direct leadership to ensure conformity with company policies and work rules.
  • Understands and champions team initiatives.
  • Promotes, understands and directs Lean Manufacturing efforts.
  • Demonstrates a pro-active and creative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Leads and/or facilitates improvement efforts/special projects related to Safety, Quality, Lean, Production, etc.
  • Promotes high level performance of hourly associates through the use of continuous improvement training, performance appraisals, and/or corrective action techniques.

Who You Are

  • 4-year degree in Operations Management, Engineering or other appropriate fields, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. B.S. in Engineering or Business is preferred. High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 5 years Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with strong preference to high-speed manufacturing.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of use of Lean principles or techniques such as TPM, 5S, etc.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, and working knowledge of production data systems. Preference for experience with Kronos and SAP.
  • Good technical understanding or mechanical skills.
  • Proven track record in leading, coaching and developing people in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of leading manufacturing process improvements and scrap reduction efforts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, leadership and project management skills.
