Job Details
The Production Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations on 1st shift. This individual will lead and develop a production team to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and production targets are consistently met or exceeded. The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage people, equipment, and processes in a fast-paced, process-driven manufacturing environment.
This position partners closely with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Human Resources, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to ensure smooth production flow and operational excellence.
Core responsibilities include supervising production staff, managing shift schedules and staffing levels, monitoring KPIs, enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the floor.
Required Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required (associate degree or technical certification preferred)Minimum 1+ year of experience in a lead, supervisory, or production leadership roleExperience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process-driven environmentStrong understanding of safety standards (PPE, EHS compliance)Ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable in a production settingBasic proficiency in math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)Strong communication skills (verbal and written English)Ability to interpret SOPs, instructions, and production documentationProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and/or ERP/MRP systemsAbility to work onsite and support a 1st shift schedule
Preferred Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fieldExperience in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environmentsPrior exposure to KPI tracking, production reporting, and operational metricsExperience with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing settingBackground in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practicesStrong track record of team development and performance coachingExperience coordinating across departments (maintenance, supply chain, quality, HR)Familiarity with equipment-heavy or system-controlled production environments
