Job Description

JOB SUMMARYThe Food Production Technician will comply with Company policies, procedures, and safety standards during the manufacturing process to manufacture food products. The role will be responsible for live animal handling, slaughtering, packing, BRC collection, and sanitation. The Food Production Technician will also provide timely notice and seek the guidance of management to navigate through manufacturing issues.ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for liv e room attendant and sanitation

Slaughteringroomproceduresthatincludestunning,bloodcatching,skinning,transferring,operating a brain saw and chiller, gutting, pre-op, euthanizing, foot cutting, trimming, grading, racking, and heart and liver collection.Biological research collection (BRC )procedures that include stunning, drawing blood, harvesting raw materials, cervical dislocation, and inspection.Packing procedures that include operating a packing saw and cryovac, working the packing line, functioningasheadoftheline,bagging,casing,orderpacking,cooler/freezer,andcompletingfresh order paperwork.UnderstandandpromotethequalitysystemasapartoftheCompany'soverallgoaltowardcontinual improvement through strict adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as actively supporting and upholding the principles and values of the company.ComplywithPel-Freez,UnitedStatesDepartmentofAgriculture(USDA),FoodSafetyandInspection Service (FSIS), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures, food safety standards, general safety, animal welfare, and good manufacturing practices.ExhibitexemplaryattendanceandPerformotherdutiesasAccurate data entry into a computer and transferring data to paperwork

Quality checks on production operations

Compiling data from several sources into one database

Creating spreadsheets in excel

Communicating data to other departments

Assisting lead in duties/taking on back up lead duties when lead is absent

Based on the essential duties listed above, this position is considered safety-sensitive and therefore all work must be performed following quality standards and established safety procedures.EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCEA high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred

Previous experience working in food production is preferred

Back up lead/lead experience preferred

Computer and paperwork entry

Microsoft Office experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledgeandunderstandingofsafetyproceduresandindustryregulationsandguidelinesrequiredby the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA),and Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).BilingualLeading employees to accomplish specific tasks

Communicating with various levels of management
