Permanent Placement / Direct Placement Title: Program Controls ManagerCompensation: up to $275K/yr. total comp Plus Benefits. commensurate with experienceLocation: Denver CO, On-Site Company Description:  Our client is an industrial-scale data center construction and operations company. They allocate data center opportunities between bitcoin mining and other high performance computing services, such as AI. They continue to develop their pipeline of power capacity at high-quality data center sites, either for bitcoin mining or HPC.Position Summary: We are seeking a Program Controls Manager to lead and maintain project schedules, ensure planning integrity, and manage milestones across fast-track hyperscale data center construction projects supporting HPC, AI/ML, and cryptocurrency mining operations. This role ensures realistic and integrated timelines from design through turnover, driving planning discipline and exposing risks early to ensure execution teams are aligned with project schedules.Responsibilities:
  • Develop and govern integrated project schedules across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.
  • Establish standardized milestone frameworks and ensure schedules are logic-driven, resource-aware, and aligned with procurement and site constraints.
  • Define planning strategies for fast-track delivery, including phased turnover and parallel workstreams, and establish planning standards.
  • Own and manage key program milestones, tracking adherence and proactively addressing risks.
  • Identify and mitigate schedule risks, develop recovery plans, and quantify impacts of changes and delays.
  • Integrate contractor and vendor schedules, ensuring alignment with the master program schedule and challenging schedules for logic gaps and unrealistic durations.
  • Provide clear schedule reporting to executive leadership and translate complex data into actionable insights.
Required Skills
  • 12–20+ years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven success in fast-track or design-build delivery models and multi-site programs.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or equivalent enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement impacts, and commissioning workflows.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with data center or mission-critical facility construction, HPC, AI, or crypto infrastructure.
  • Experience integrating utility schedules and commissioning plans.
  • Background collaborating with EPCs, GCs, and engineering firms.
  • Experience managing or mentoring planners and schedulers.
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) preferred.
