TheDouglas D. Schumann School of Engineering atWentworth Institute of Technology in Boston invites applications for a full-timeProgram Director position for the Civil, Biomedical and Biological, Engineering programs.Responsibilities:Reporting to the Dean, the Program Director plays a key role in curriculum development, accreditation, program assessment, and student success. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in academic administration, and a passion for student-centered education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and accreditation.

  • Coordinate scheduling, faculty assignments, and academic standards.

  • Support student advising, recruitment, and retention efforts.

  • Collaborate with university offices such as Registrar, Marketing, and COOPS+CAREERS.

  • Teach up to 3 courses during the academic year and 2 in summer for additional pay.

  • Assist with strategic planning, budgeting, and program communications.

Schumann School of Engineering currently offers eight ABET-accredited engineering programs in Biological, Biomedical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electromechanical, Engineering , and Mechanical Engineering with two new engineering programs in progress.  In addition to the undergraduate programs, the School offers  three graduate programs in Civil, Electrical and Computer, and Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 yearsof progressive responsibility in academic, research, or equivalent roles, including teaching, program development, or leadership

  • Holds a PhD in an engineering discipline or closely related field.

  • Holds a faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor rank.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher education and its challenges and opportunities.

  • Experience in serving students, management, and leadership

Preferred Work Experience Required:

  • 5 - 10 years of relative experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstratedadministrative experience.

Position Details:

This is a full-time benefits eligible.

12 month administrative professional position

The job grade for this position is a Grade 11.  The expected wage range for this position is between $120,000 - $150,000 which reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role.
