Lockheed Martin seeks an Infrared Payload (IRPL) IPT Program Manager who is responsible for technical, cost and schedule of an integrated cross functional product team delivering the IRPL portion of the SDA TRKT3 Missile Warning Missile Defense (MW/MD) program. The SDA TRKT3 program is responsible for delivering 18 Low Earth Orbit Missile Tracking Satellites, divided into 2 constellation planes.

The IRPL IPT Lead is critical to the success of the TRKT3 program. They provide authoritative technical and programmatic direction and execution for all IRPL- related engineering and production activities on a schedule-centric, firm fixed price program. The IRPL IPT scope includes overseeing the subcontracted (General Atomics) Infrared Payload, which includes but is not limited to: telescope, filter wheel, focal plane, cryocooler, electronics, radiators, and structures, as well as management and execution of LM in-house developed Space Based Mission Processing (SBMP) algorithms to be furnished to General Atomics. SBPM is a key strategic area for LM, and the role includes the need for seamless interaction with the Internal Research and Development (IRAD) team that is providing a subset of the algorithms in support of the TRKT3 program (and others). The IRPL IPT Lead ensures on-time and on-cost hardware and circuitware/algorithm delivery, that meet the performance requirements for the 18 vehicles. The IRPL IPT lead will need to ensure rapid resolution of cross team internally and externally to ensure seamless coordination with all partners to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectives. Note that the IRPL IPT lead will be supported by a Subcontract Manager, Subcontract administrator, and technical staff.

The IRPL IPT Lead will act as the Program leader for their discipline, drive technical and program decisions, and keep the team aligned with and executing to the SOW, Technical Requirements, Integrated Master Schedule, and Cost baselines consistent with the program's Firm Fixed Price (FFP) requirements.

This is a high-visibility position that offers an opportunity to quickly make a significant impact on the future of Transport, Tracking, and Warning (TT&W) and LM Space.

This position requires a high level of technical and business acumen to balance priorities, drive issue prevention/resolution, and clearly communicate status and needs to our customers/partners, and with both Lockheed Martin and supplier executives.

This position is expected to require domestic travel less than 15%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years in Satellite Sensing or Communication Product Development Programs.
  • Proven experience as a successful Integrated Product Team or group lead for a government‐owned, Fixed Price or Cost Plus contract.
  • Proven ability to successfully communicate and partner with USG counterparts
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams, resolve conflicts, and present technical information clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated high proficiency in Earned Value Management, cost and schedule execution to baseline, precise control and management of sources of variances, as well as risk and opportunity management.
  • Experience in working closely with critical subcontracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems or 12+ years of applicable related experience
  • Current Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI access

Desired Skills:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems
  • Experience in Infrared Sensing Missions.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of Optical / Infrared payloads.
  • Experience in circuitware/algorithm development, particularly in Mission Data Processing.
  • Experience working with IRAD giver/receiver relationships to leverage for programs
  • Direct responsibility for major subcontracts

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $157,800 - $278,185. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $181,400 - $314,525. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
