Job Description

I. Purpose 

The Program Manager supports the success of ASHA’s Audiology Professional Practices Cluster by leading the operational planning and implementation of key programs, projects, and initiatives. This role ensures the delivery of timely, relevant, and high-quality resources and programs that empower ASHA members to provide high value audiologic care. Through strategic coordination, data-informed decision-making, and collaborative execution, the Program Manager contributes to the advancement of ASHA’s mission and strategic goals.

II. Key Responsibilities 

  1. Program & Project Management
    • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and initiatives within the Audiology Cluster.
    • Manage timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful implementation.
    • Oversee logistics for events and activities, including vendor contracts, inventory tracking, and onsite support.
  2. Content & Communications
    • Coordinate the development and dissemination of print and digital content aligned with ASHA’s brand and standards.
    • Draft and update communications across platforms (web, newsletters, email broadcasts, ASHA Community, social media).
    • Support dissemination strategies to maximize member engagement and resource accessibility.
  3. Data & Evaluation
    • Develop and analyze performance reports to assess program effectiveness.
    • Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, inform decisions, and recommend improvements.
    • Maintain and manage program databases and information systems.
  4. Operational Excellence
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and process improvements.
    • Coordinate the Audiology Team’s participation in professional events, such as the ASHA Convention and other exhibiting occurrences. 
    • Ensure alignment with ASHA’s strategic plan and contribute to national office initiatives.  

IV. Autonomy & Decision Making: 

The Program Manager works independently after consultation with the Senior Director, Audiology Practices, and other project/program leads within the Audiology Team/Cluster. They are encouraged to propose innovative solutions to advance the success of their projects and key responsibilities.

V. Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications: 

Knowledge typically acquired through:

  • 3+ years of experience managing programs or projects within a complex organization 
  • Project management coursework 
  • Experience that demonstrates strategic, creative, and analytical thinking 

Skills 

  • Strong organizational and project/resource management experience 
  • Proven capacity to balance independent work with collaborative teamwork in a cross-functional environment 
  • Understanding of graphic design, web publishing, and website architecture fundamentals 
  • Proficiency in proofreading, copyediting, and professional writing  
  • Technical competence appropriate for using a web content management system, standard business software (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), collaboration software (e.g. SharePoint, Teams), financial management systems, and customer relationship management software 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
