JOB TITLE:Program Manager, Community Service at Hartford Community Court

LOCATION: Hartford, CT

SALARY: $68,000 annually

One of the oldest organizations of its kind in the country, Community Partners in Action (CPA) was founded nearly 150 years ago to champion criminal justice reform and advocate for preserving the dignity of those in and out of prison. Through our programs that include reentry and housing, youth initiatives, a nationally recognized Prison Arts Program, and holistic alternatives to incarceration, we provide a long-term impact that positively transforms individuals and society at large. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social science or another related field. At least three years supervisory experience in the Criminal Justice or Social Work field and experience working with the criminal justice population. Education may be substituted with experience on a year for year basis. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, decision making, communication (verbal, written), interpersonal and organizational/prioritization skills. Exceptional time management, flexibility and adaptability. Knowledge of the court system and community providers in the Greater Hartford Community. Knowledge of crisis intervention, trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices. Efficient data management and critical analysis. Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation required. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) desired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Commit to the agency's mission and program goals.
  • Promote a culture of respect, empathy, mutual support, belonging and work to eliminate any unconscious bias or discrimination in our beliefs, rules and systems.
  • Oversee direction and management of program activities and staff, ensuring fidelity of program model.
  • Lead and facilitate regular team meetings with staff and visit project sites for quality assurance.
  • Meet monthly with staff on an individual basis to review and discuss performance and professional development; ensure supervisions occur with all program staff.
  • Develop and manage community service projects, resources, and staff to support the program and CPA's cultural responsiveness and multi-lingual capacity.
  • Ensure the program is in compliance with funder contractual agreement.
  • Act as liaison between program, court, referral sources, community and contract monitor.
  • Maintain clear and open communication/collaboration with referral sources/funder network.
  • Attend Neighborhood Revitalization Zones (NRZ) meetings and community events.
  • Prepare and submit all reports in a manner consistent with program, agency and funder guidelines and ensure accuracy of data.
  • Manage and maintain fiscal resources in collaboration with Program Operations Director and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Oversee use and maintenance of CPA property (vehicles, etc.).
  • Participate in monthly Program Manager Meetings and engage in leadership opportunities.
  • Represent the agency/program at the request of the Program Operations Director.
  • As appropriate, collaborate with Human Resources Director and Program Operations Director, on employment matters including recruiting, hiring, promotions/transfers, performance management and terminations.
  • Ensure staff compliance with CPA policies and procedures regarding professional behavior, attendance, attire, etc.
  • Perform other leadership tasks and inter-agency functions as required.
