Job Description
Program Manager, CybersecurityArlington, TxDirect Hire$120,000-$140,000
A growing, well-established financial institution is looking for a Program Manager to build and own their enterprise vulnerability initiatives. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has worked in a vulnerability management or cyber risk program and is ready to step up and own one for the first time. A managed services vendor handles the hands-on remediation work — this person is focused on governance, structure, accountability, and visibility.
What You'll Do
- Build and formalize the enterprise vulnerability management program framework
- Establish and standardize patch management processes across a large environment including workstations, servers, and applications
- Stand up software and application version management processes where none currently exist
- Own executive and board-level reporting on vulnerability program performance, trends, and risk reduction over time
- Coordinate remediation accountability across infrastructure, application, and technology teams
- Manage relationships with the managed services vendor handling hands-on remediation work
- Build and mature governance documentation, operating procedures, and standards
- Support audit and regulatory readiness related to vulnerability management
- 7+ years overall experience, 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, technology risk, or security governance
- Proficient with vulnerability management, patch management, or cyber risk programs — you understand how these programs work even if you haven't owned one end to end yet
- Strong reporting and communication skills — you'll be translating risk into business language for executives and leadership
- Organized and process-driven with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive accountability without direct authority
- Comfortable building something new with limited existing structure or documentation
- Hands-on technical or hands-on-keys background not required
Nice to Have
- Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or similar
