Title: PROGRAM MANAGER, STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER @ DeWitt Clinton HS
Reports To: Program Director, Student Success Centers
Location: 100 West Mosholu Parkway South, Bronx, New York, 10468
Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt
Salary: $59,000 - $66,000 per year
Job Summary:
The Program Manager oversees the operation of the Student Success Center on the DeWitt Clinton Campus. In conjunction with DOE staff at Clinton HS, the Program Manager develops and implements a youth led college access program that works to sustain a college-going culture at the school. The Student Success Center (SSC) provides the resources and tools necessary for each student to reach their post-secondary educational goals.
Major Duties:
Organize the delivery of student support and college access services provided by the Student Success Center at DeWitt Clinton High School.
Hire and supervise program staff, including a team of youth peer college counselors.
Collaborate with DOE guidance counselors and other school staff to develop post-secondary service plans and strategies which meet the needs of the school population and compliance.
Work with the Office of Student Pathways (OSP) of New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) and CARA to ensure that all key performance indicators and outcomes are met for all stakeholders.
Oversee recruitment, intake, assessment, on-going interventions and follow up to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Maintain all required statistical and narrative documentation, ensuring timely and accurate record keeping.
Facilitate college preparation workshops and train staff in facilitation.
Assist students with college choice, exploration and completion of college applications in a timely manner.
Provide workshops for parents/guardians on financial aid and the college choice and application process to inform and to attain their support for a college option.
Provide information on financial aid and assistance on FAFSA and scholarship applications; support staff in providing this assistance.
Organize and attend/support college tours.
Outreach to and network with secondary schools, community-based organizations, colleges, and universities.
Promote collaboration between SSC services and other Clinton HS campus services.
Represent the program to funders.
Participate in staff training, campus Cabinet meetings, and internal Good Shepherd meetings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BA required.
College access counseling experience required.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Prior workshop/seminar development and implementation experience preferred.
Management/supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to work on weekends or evenings when necessary.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Must have excellent organizational, teamwork, verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth, family, and community development perspective.
