About Hiring Our Heroes

Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) connects transitioning service members, military spouses, and veterans with meaningful career opportunities through innovative workforce development programs. As a workforce initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, HOH partners with employers across the country to create pathways to long-term civilian careers while strengthening America's workforce.

If you're passionate about serving the military-connected community, building meaningful partnerships, and creating career opportunities that change lives, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

The Program Manager, Corporate Fellowship Program is responsible for leading and growing a local Fellowship Program site that connects transitioning service members with civilian employers through hands-on fellowship experiences.

This role blends program management, business development, relationship management, and community engagement. You'll work directly with military installations, employer partners, workforce organizations, and fellowship participants to deliver exceptional program experiences while expanding the program's reach and impact throughout your region.

Success in this role requires someone who enjoys building relationships, managing multiple priorities, solving problems, and creating opportunities for others.

What You'll Do

Program Management

  • Lead and grow a local Fellowship Program site while supporting assigned coverage areas.

  • Manage the full fellowship lifecycle, from participant recruitment and matching through fellowship completion and employment outcomes.

  • Plan and execute cohort programming, including orientations, professional development sessions, networking events, and graduation ceremonies.

  • Deliver an exceptional experience for participants, employers, and community partners.

Employer & Partnership Development

  • Recruit new employer partners and strengthen existing relationships.

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective host companies using CRM and tracking tools.

  • Identify opportunities to expand program participation and increase regional impact.

  • Collaborate with employers to understand workforce needs and align fellowship opportunities.

Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with military installations, workforce development organizations, chambers of commerce, federal agencies, and community stakeholders.

  • Represent Hiring Our Heroes at military installations, career fairs, information sessions, and community events.

  • Increase awareness of the Fellowship Program through strategic outreach and engagement.

Operations & Performance

  • Maintain accurate program records and reporting within QuickBase, CRM platforms, and other internal systems.

  • Monitor key performance metrics and use data to improve program outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance program effectiveness.

  • Ensure timely execution of program milestones and deliverables.

Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams across Programs, Development, Digital, Marketing, and Operations to support successful program delivery.

  • Contribute to sponsorship and partnership initiatives that help expand program sustainability and growth.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and enjoys balancing strategic outreach with day-to-day program execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in business development, partnership management, account management, or workforce development.

  • Experience building and managing a sales or partnership pipeline, including lead generation, qualification, and conversion.

  • Strong relationship-building and consultative communication skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage military, employer, and executive audiences.

  • Experience using CRM platforms or other data management systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes.

  • Highly organized with exceptional project management and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced hybrid environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve day-to-day productivity (such as drafting, summarizing, research support, and scheduling) while maintaining accuracy, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning as technology evolves.

  • Familiarity with workforce development programs, including DoD SkillBridge or military transition initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military service or direct experience supporting the military-connected community.

  • Experience working with workforce development, talent acquisition, or employer engagement programs.

  • Experience planning and facilitating professional development or networking events.
