PROGRAM: Autism Diagnostic Clinic Program (ADCP)

ROLE TYPE: Full-Time

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Program Manager (PM) for the Autism Diagnostic Clinic Program (ADCP) is a grant-funded position and is expected to operate for a three-year period, with the option to continue if grant funding is extended. The Program Manager is responsible for clinical oversight of the program as well as supervising and working alongside the ADCP Project Coordinator to ensure that the program runs smoothly. The Program Manager is also responsible for parent coaching sessions while families await their evaluation and services prior to and after their evaluation. This position reports to The Center for Autism's Clinical Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary clinical point of contact for the ADCP.
  • Work in collaboration with evaluating psychologists.
  • Provide parent coaching sessions using therapy principles while families await their evaluation, allowing the family to begin working with the child therapeutically and develop a peer support system for the caregivers.
  • Provide coaching sessions post-evaluation while families await services, allowing the family to continue working with the child therapeutically for a minimum of 6 weekly sessions following their assessment.
  • Provide clients and their families with education on autism spectrum disorder (ASD), connection to social supports, and referrals to appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Connect clients and their families with resources in their local communities.
  • Supervise, and work in conjunction with, the ADCP Project Coordinator to provide internal documentation of progress; disseminate information within the program and to families; connect and maintain relationships with outside agencies; establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and service providers; and identify and modify (as needed) referral/resource guides, researching services in ADCP-serviced areas.
  • Serve as ADCP's primary liaison between parents/caregivers, support agencies, early intervention, and hospital systems.
  • Administer and accept feedback from families via satisfaction surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedural guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities
  • Experience in managing multiple administrative tasks at once
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to provide supportive care
  • Proper phone and "on-screen" etiquette
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care
  • Knowledge of evidence-based parent coaching methods for ASD
  • Knowledge of medical and diagnostic terminology

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree required from an accredited program in an area of human services, such as social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required, preferably in a healthcare office setting
  • Preferred: Clinical licensure
