Overview
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by developing pediatric oncology, hematology, and rare disease clinical practice recommendations and guidelines, training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.
The ARIA Guide is a web portal with the mission to improve access to childhood cancer treatment plans and resources globally, particularly where internet connectivity is unreliable or difficult to access.
*This role is eligible to be remote. There may be some occasional travel involved with this role, 10% or less.

Responsibilities
The Program Manager for the ARIA program will be responsible for:
Lead the planning and execution of a program including defining objectives, approaches, goals, governance mechanisms, resource deployment, periodic reviews, contingency planning and periodic reporting and communication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally to achieve defined outcomes aligned with departmental strategies.
Plan, manage, and support the continued future-forward technical needs of the program. This includes the oncology clinical information needed to transfer from the adapted management guideline and clinical practice recommendations to an online digital web portal(s).
Identify and define how artificial intelligence (AI) may assist, leverage, and benefit program aims.
Drive internal stakeholder management and communications, management of external vendors, and strong partnership with stakeholders inside and outside the institution.
Manage direct reports as well as supports other non-direct reporting staff and external contingent workers.
Track program and/or project success.
Provide oversight and management of program budgets through planning, control and tracking of expenditures.
Provide more complex analysis of data to create reports for senior leadership.
Occasional travel may be involved, 10% or less.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
Master’s and/or Doctorate degree in the clinical, oncology, and/or research field is desired.
Minimum Experience:
4+ years of experience in program management and delivery.
Experience designing and managing programs with focus on customer needs.
Experience in program budget tracking, reporting and risk management.
Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision-making.
Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management team, 2+ years of experience preferred.
Some experience driving continuous program improvement projects.
2+ years of experience in healthcare informatics within clinical oncology, preferred.
Recent experience in future digital planning that include artificial intelligence (AI) aspects, preferred.
Clinical background is preferred.
Experience in prescribing pediatric oncology chemotherapy regimens is preferred.
Technical expertise would be great, but is not required.
Skills and Abilities:
Able to draw insights from different sets of data and quickly understand why issues are happening.

Exhibits basic grasp of project management process like scoping, scheduling, milestones, reporting, tools (MS project, etc.), and templates to support program planning and coordination.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of budget planning, forecasting processes, contracts and grants as well as their interdependencies with other organizational processes.
Manages budget and variance for own team and provides inputs for potential budget needs during planning.
Analyzes budget & grant data, identifies trends, shares findings and recommends actions as needed.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of more advanced data management tools, systems and processes.
Is able to carry out more complex analysis of data, working with large/complex data sets, to create reports for senior leaders.
Exhibits strong critical thinking to identify trends and draw out insights; works with a high level of independence.
Plans workload for team and gives clear instructions and expectations on delivery.
Frequently reviews work, gives positive and constructive feedback, and completes evaluations.
Always coaches and supports the development efforts of each team member.
Leverages knowledge of project management tools and methodologies to manage less complex programs, end to end.
Defines scope and milestones clearly with a clear understanding of customer needs and overall program goals.
Identifies and regularly communicates with critical cross functional stakeholders, managing resources & conflicts and drives accountability.
Evaluates and proposes suitable vendors based on understanding of vendor offerings, business needs, and internal evaluation criteria.
Negotiates and oversees vendor service levels/terms for own area in line with organizational objectives.
Addresses complex vendor issues around delivery through engagement with vendor leadership.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Program Manager, ARIA Program.Explore our exceptional benefits!
