Program Manager – Medical Device
Location: Chicago, IL – Ravenswood/Montrose areaPay: Up to $70/hrPotential Direct Hire: Yes — target $120K–$140K+, depending on background
Position Overview
A leading medical device manufacturer specializing in drug delivery devices is seeking a Program Manager to lead and coordinate product development programs from initial quotation through design freeze and process validation. This role will serve as a key customer interface while leading cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet quality, cost, timing, and risk objectives.
Medical device experience is a MUST.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage internal and external customers as the primary program contact.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout medical device development.
- Develop and manage program plans, budgets, timelines, and expenses.
- Identify program risks and drive action plans to keep projects on track.
- Manage multiple programs simultaneously.
- Present program status and updates during governance meetings.
- Coordinate with Finance to track program costs and budgets.
- Participate in technical decisions and supplier selection.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
Must Have
- Medical device industry experience — REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of Program Management experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong customer-facing experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Highly Preferred
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing, injection molding, and automation.
- Medical device or combination product development experience.
- Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 62366.
- Experience managing programs across multiple sites.
