Job Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Collat Professional Education is seeking a Program Manager II to manage Career Advancement Courses, support marketing and outreach, and help cultivate business development opportunities with organizations, corporate partners, and community stakeholders. This position plays an important role in strengthening program visibility, supporting enrollment growth, and expanding professional education opportunities for individual learners and organizations. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities, building relationships, supporting program operations, and helping move ideas from planning to execution. The Program Manager II will also assist with the delivery of custom programs and maintain strong relationships with educational partners, instructors, clients, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring strong communication, follow-through, attention to detail, professionalism, and adaptability.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Manage Career Advancement Courses offered by Collat Professional Education: Oversee course offerings to ensure alignment with learner needs, industry trends, instructor expertise, educational partnerships, and Professional Education growth goals. Maintain strong working relationships with educational partners, instructors, and internal stakeholders to support high-quality course delivery and continued program growth.

  • Manage Professional Education marketing strategy, budget, assets, and documentation: Develop and implement marketing plans for Professional Education programs, including the creation and maintenance of marketing assets, newsletters, website content, email communications, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials. Manage related marketing budget activity, document outreach efforts, and ensure marketing materials are accurate, timely, brand-aligned, and supportive of program visibility and enrollment goals.

  • Cultivate business development opportunities and strategic partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with corporate clients, industry leaders, academic leaders, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to expand Professional Education's client base and strengthen program offerings. Represent Professional Education at institutional and external events, conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities to showcase program achievements and identify new opportunities for collaboration, client engagement, and program growth.

  • Assist with delivering custom programs: Support the Professional Education office in delivering custom programs, including program planning, client communication, delivery logistics, documentation, and quality control to ensure strong execution, client satisfaction, and alignment with agreed-upon goals.

  • Lead graduate and undergraduate student assistants in the Professional Education office: Train, guide, and oversee student assistants to support program operations, marketing projects, event preparation, data tracking, and office productivity.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

(Annual Salary: $51,270 - $66,665)

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferred candidates will have experience in program management, marketing, business development, client relationship management, or program/event logistics. Strong communication, organization, follow-through, adaptability, problem-solving, professionalism, and relationship-building skills are preferred. Related experience may include professional education, program management, project management, training and development, corporate learning, business development, client relationship management, marketing, stakeholder engagement, event/program logistics, or planning and delivering educational or professional programs. This position prefers someone who can work independently, represent Professional Education with external audiences, and contribute to the continued growth of Collat Professional Education.
