PROGRAM MANAGER-SPH

General Responsibilities:

The UAB School of Public Health's Office of Public Health Practice (OPHP) is seeking a Program Manager to oversee and coordinate a range of programs and initiatives within the office. This position manages the SOPH student newsletter, coordinates and promotes OPHP events, supports the Public Health Student Association and the Public Health Influencers Summer Institute (PHISI), and coordinates elements of multiple grant-funded initiatives. The Program Manager independently designs, develops, and administers program content and communication materials in support of OPHP's goals. This includes establishing program objectives, maintaining policies and procedures, and serving as a liaison between OPHP and internal and external stakeholders-including grant partners, community organizations, and school leadership. The Program Manager also provides administrative and programmatic support to faculty, staff, students, grant partners, and community partners, while managing day-to-day program operations, tracking project activities, and developing reports and analyses to support ongoing initiatives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the development, coordination, and distribution of departmental newsletters and other communication materials.

  2. Support the planning, promotion, and execution of events, meetings, workshops, and community engagement activities.

  3. Provide administrative and programmatic support for current and upcoming grant-funded initiatives.

  4. Support the planning, promotion, and execution of the Public Health Influencers Summer Institute (PHISI) program.

  5. Track project activities, maintain records, prepare reports, and support communication among grant partners and stakeholders.

  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range: $45,395 - $59,015

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in public health or related field and one (1) year of related experience is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to use personal computer and related software, including Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently.
