The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Project Manager of the Material Reinvent Program, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Our projects are at the forefront of medical device technology, focusing particularly on the use and integration of adhesives, chemicals and materials. Your role will be pivotal in steering these projects towards success, making a significant impact in the medical field. Previous experience in medical devices, particularly with adhesives and chemicals, is highly regarded.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Define project requirements and objectives by leading comprehensive needs assessments in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with program and business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams to translate complex material and chemical specifications, performance criteria, and regulatory considerations into clear, actionable project plans.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver project milestones on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with strategic program objectives. This includes effective oversight of project scope, resources, value proposition, and overall execution to ensure successful delivery of program solutions.
  • Apply project management best practices to drive consistent and predictable project execution. Responsibilities include establishing robust project plans, implementing proactive risk‑mitigation strategies, and ensuring adherence to quality standards consistent with medical device or other regulated environments.
  • Support the development and execution of strategies specific to the Material Reinvent program, enabling a successful separation from 3M while maintaining operational continuity.
  • Demonstrate strong responsiveness and adaptability, recognizing that timely decision‑making and communication are essential to safeguarding project progress and continuity of supply.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of project management and/or team leadership
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with medical devices and FDA/ISO requirements.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Experience leading global cross-functional teams.
  • New product development or product life cycle maintenance such as product engineering experience a plus
  • Experience with New Product Introduction Process and Executing Gate Reviews, or other Phase-Gate Process
  • Ability to influence stakeholders including clarifying risks and opportunities.
  • Experience in chemicals, polymers and adhesives a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing transfer to external manufacturing a plus
  • Microsoft Office and Project proficient
  • Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Work location: Hybrid - require on-site at Maplewood, MN/Eagan, MN (moving in couple of months) office on a weekly basis.

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/ international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
